Hi, I’m James. I’m a hands-on tinkerer who is endlessly curious about how the world around me works. I enjoy taking things apart, understanding how they work, repairing them, and putting them back together in better or more interesting ways. Much of what I’ve learned has come from independent projects, restoring legacy computers, reverse-engineering control systems, configuring networks and servers, and experimenting with automation.
I’m especially fascinated by the hidden systems behind everyday technology, from life-safety panels and robotics to vintage computing and modern networking. Take a look at the links to see some of the projects and experiments I’ve been working on!
